How is my rent calculated? | FAQs 2024 Shared Owners

Every year, we review rents and apply any increases in line with the terms of your shared ownership lease. 

While each agreement differs, and the terms are specific to you, this year the increases are based on Retail Prices Index (RPI) in September, plus 0.5%. The calculation for your rent will be included in the letter sent to you in February.

This year, RPI for September 2023 was 8.9%. RPI is a government published measure of inflation and can be found on the following website: www.ons.gov.uk
