Blueprint for cleaner, greener and safer neighbourhood
We've worked in partnership with local housing association mhs homes and other local providers to create our first joint Neighbourhood Charter which will benefit over 4,000 customers living in Marden.
Representatives from Golding Homes, mhs homes, Marden Parish Council, Maidstone Borough Council, Kent County Council, Kent Police and Kent Fire and Rescue Service all came together on Monday 2 October to officially sign and pledge their commitment to the Charter.
Mandie Stallard Golding Homes’ Estate Improvement Lead said: “This Neighbourhood Charter is a shared vision for the community that has involved all these key partners and most importantly the members of the community. It’s a set of agreed standards that will help to improve the Marden area to make sure it’s clean, safe and green for everyone living there. This is our first neighbourhood charter but we’re planning to work with partners to do more in other areas in the future.”
The charter sets out the rights, responsibilities and expectations between customers and service providers, making it easier for local communities to know who to contact for what issue.
“In signing up to the charter we’re pledging our commitment to work with our partners to improve neighbourhoods and build communities where people can thrive,” said Ashley Hook, Chief Executive at mhs homes.
Maidstone Borough Council are another of the key partners, Cabinet Member for Environmental Services, Cllr Patrik Garten added: "It's good to see the different partners coming together and pooling resources, which will help make a positive difference to the local community. I was pleased to support this charter today to kick things off, now we'll focus on working together with our partners to follow through on what we've promised."
