Golding Homes donates laptops to charity
Twelve Golding Homes laptops will get a new lease of life providing vital tech access to local charitable causes after being refurbished and recycled. We’ve donated the equipment to UK registered Computers 4 Charity who work on refurbishing computer equipment to benefit new owners.
Lucy Breeze, Sustainability Manager at Golding Homes said: “We’re delighted that others will be able to benefit from these laptops. Donating our old laptops helps reduce our carbon footprint by ensuring they are reused or recycled for spare parts, rather than being thrown into landfill.”
Emillie Hobden, Project Manager at Computers 4 Charity said: “Golding Homes are our local housing association, we know people who live in their homes. We are delighted that these laptops can be given a second life, meaning that new ones don’t have to be manufactured which would have caused 1.8 tonnes of CO2 emissions. Young unemployed will be given work experience, training and jobs in the refurbishment process and charities beneficiaries here in Kent will have their lives transformed for the better. Thank you Golding Homes!”.
