Helping Jennifer to stay in the home she loves

Jennifer Winter has been a Golding Homes (Golding) customer for almost twenty years.

Born in Gillingham, Jennifer has lived in Kent her whole life and in her current home for over forty-six years. She moved to Maidstone to be nearer her siblings and together, she and husband Richard raised two sons there. They became Golding customers following a transfer in 2004. After their sons left home the couple continued to enjoy life together until, six years ago when Richard died. Staying in a home filled with memories of the joyful life she shared with her husband, is precious to Jennifer and she was afraid she’d have to leave when she became unwell and found it hard to move around.

Jennifer said: “This is my family home, I love it. My children have all grown up here. I don’t want to leave. When I got poorly, I was worried how I’d cope. I’m not good on my feet and I can’t do stairs so when I spoke to Golding, they came round to see what they could do to help.

“They’ve made some changes like fitting a stair lift which is perfect and even installed things that I didn’t know I needed like handrails.”

As a local landlord Golding cares about understanding the needs of customers and will work with them, wherever possible, to tailor services according to their needs.

Jenny still has siblings in the area and loves that she remains so near to family.
