Looking after your neighbourhood

Operative opening rubbish bin

Since the start of the lockdown, we have seen a vast increase in waste disposal and fly-tipping across our communities.

To help us keep communal areas free from excess waste we would like to ask for your help to recycle and dispose of your rubbish correctly. Small things can help, for example, crushing down cans and cardboard, and ensuring your rubbish is always placed in the communal bin store or wheelie bins, ready for collection by the local authority.

Following the closure of Household Waste and Recycle Centres across the country, we have also seen an increase in fly-tipping and need your help to prevent this by reporting it to your local Council.

Fly tipping is a crime costing significant amounts of money to clean up, it can also be dangerous; the rubbish left can fuel fires, harm animals or attract rats and cause a hazard for drivers and other members of the public.

If caught fly tipping, the fines can be substantial - up to £50,000 or a six month prison sentence.

If you see fly-tipping taking place, please report this to your local authority or if it is in a Golding Homes area, you can report this to us.

When reporting a fly-tipping incident, you need to provide evidence for us to support a prosecution, e.g. a clear photo identifying the individual in the act or of them by the car with a visible registration plate.

We would like to thank you for your support in helping us to keep your neighbourhoods clear, clean, and safe for everyone during these challenging times.
