Protecting yourself from being scammed
We've been made aware of some possible scams being reported by customers recently.
In one case, someone tried to gain access to a property by saying he was doing a gas check and promptly left when asked for ID. We've confirmed this wasn't one of our engineers so are asking customers to be vigilent - we'll write to you in advance of appointments and always show you ID.
We're also aware of customers being phoned by someone claiming to be from Golding Homes wanting to discuss rent arrears. In some cases, a voicemail is left but the caller doesn't leave a name. We'll always tell you our name and reason for calling if we leave you a message.
Scammers are constantly coming up with new ways to target people, whether this is on the doorstep, via text or phone, or even online and has increased with the rising costs of living.
To protect yourself and others please remember to:

Don’t part with any cash or bank information on your doorstep or let anyone into your home without checking their photo identification.

Don't use the numbers or address in the text/email, use the details from their official website.

Your bank or any other official source will never ask you to supply personal information via email

Remain extra vigilant with texts or e-mails telling you to pay cash as these are scams, please don’t get caught out by them. If you’re unsure if the text has come from us, please call us on 0300 777 2600 to check.
