Red weather warning
There’s a Red weather warning in place across the country on Monday and Tuesday due to the extreme heat.
To protect our colleagues we’ll be reducing our cleaning, caretaking and waste collection services and outdoor jobs such as roofing, will be rescheduled on these days. We’ll contact customer to re-book these appointments.
Supervisors will be out checking in with our workers to make sure they’re ok and have plenty of water and we’ll be making welfare calls to all our OPAL customers.
Please make sure you protect yourself and others to avoid becoming unwell:
- Drink plenty of water and take it with you if travelling
- Avoid the sun between 11am-3pm
- Stay indoors or in the shade as much as possible and keep babies and children out of the sun
- Apply sunscreen regularly if you do need to go outside
- Close your curtains or blinds to keep rooms cooler
- Check in on any elderly or vulnerable neighbours
- Don’t leave anyone in a closed, parked vehicle, especially children and animals
If you need medical assistance, call 111 unless it’s an emergency. Dial 999 only in an emergency.
