Planned works
We have a rolling programme to replace different components in our homes. These are called planned works.
We carry out home condition surveys to gather data about our properties, which help us determine when these components might need to be replaced. That's why it's really important we can gain access to your home to survey it when we need to.
Below you can see the review dates (in years) for different planned works. The timescale for replacing these components can vary depending on the condition of your property.

Understanding the process
Home condition survey:
This is a 30-minute visit from one our Asset Surveyors to review the lifespan of the components in your property (eg kitchen, bathroom, doors). The survey allows us to check for any health and safety concerns and helps us make decisions on when to replace the components in your home.
Component replacement appointment:
This is a 30-minute appointment with our Customer Liaison Lead to discuss the component due for renewal. During the appointment, you'll confirm you'd like the component to be replaced and be able to ask any questions you may have about the process. We’ll ask you to sign to confirm you’re happy for the replacement and provide you with a handy FAQ guide, should you have any questions following the visit. You'll also receive a follow up letter confirming your place on the replacement programme.
Confirmation of planned works
Once all visits have been carried out, our planned works programme will be confirmed and sent forward to our dedicated component contractors to carry out the process of installation.
Component design appointment
The contractor will contact you directly to arrange an appointment with their design team, who'll visit you to discuss any recommendations, the plan for the replacement component and if any layout changes are recommended in line with regulations.
Component installation
As planned with the contractor, your component will be removed and the new component installed. Depending on what's being replaced, this process can take between 5 and 10 working days.
Sign-off appointment
Following the completion of the installation, our Clerk of Works will visit you to confirm your new component is working as intended and that you're happy with the service carried out.
