OPAL - Older People, Active Lives

OPAL Hand holding older people

The OPAL service is available to our residents living in our sheltered housing and provides additional assistance to help them to continue to live independently in their own homes, and maintain their tenancy.

Our OPAL Advisors will be able to offer you advice on how to report a repair and keeping your home to a reasonable standard, how to pay your rent and your rights under your tenancy agreement. They will also keep you safe by carrying out regular health and safety checks of the communal areas in your scheme and annual tests of your Golding Lifeline equipment. If you are struggling with your benefits, then the OPAL Advisors will be able to let you know about other agencies that can help you.

If you would like more information about this service please contact us.

We offer a range of accommodation in our 12 sheltered schemes for those over 50 who wish to continue to live independently in an easier to manage home.

Located in and around Maidstone and the surrounding villages, our sheltered housing enables you to care for yourself within a safe and secure environment.  Each home is equipped with a fully fitted kitchen and bathroom and many have been adapted for those with disabilities.

They are also fitted with a Golding Lifeline; an emergency alarm system which enables you to call for help in an emergency 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The schemes offer a range of services and facilities including a communal lounge, guest room, laundry facilities, foot clinic and a day centre with a lunch club.
