Amber weather warning
The weather is heating up again from today and over the weekend.
To protect our colleagues, we’ll be reducing our cleaning, caretaking and waste collection services and outdoor jobs such as larger roofing works will be rescheduled. We’ll contact customers to re-book these appointments.
Supervisors will be out checking in with our workers to make sure they’re ok and have plenty of water, and we’ll be making welfare calls to customers that need extra support.
Please make sure you protect yourself and others to avoid becoming unwell:
-
Drink plenty of water and take it with you if travelling
-
Avoid the sun between 11am-3pm
-
Stay indoors or in the shade as much as possible and keep babies and children out of the sun
-
Apply sunscreen regularly if you do need to go outside
-
Close your curtains or blinds to keep rooms cooler
-
Check in on any elderly or vulnerable neighbours
-
Don’t leave anyone in a closed, parked vehicle; especially children and animals
If you need medical help, call 111 unless it’s an emergency. Dial 999 only in an emergency.
Water restrictions
There’s a hosepipe and sprinkler ban for South East Water customers in Kent and Sussex from this Friday 12 August. There are some exceptions for customers on the Priority Services Register.
