New affordable homes to be built in Herne Bay
We're pleased to announce that we've exchanged contracts with major housebuilder Bellway to build 72 new affordable homes at Oxenden Park in Herne Bay.
Oxenden Park, off Green Hill Road, will be made up of 51 homes for affordable rent and 21 for Shared Ownership sale, helping local people make their first step onto the housing ladder.
The development will be a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses, proving a range of affordable homes. It will include sustainability features such as solar panels and electric vehicle charging points, and quality, communal space which will include picnic tables and play areas.
Tom Casey, Director of Development and Sales at Golding Homes (pictured), said:
“We’re excited to be building homes in Herne Bay and are pleased to be partnering with Bellway on this project.
“Oxenden Park’s affordable rent and Shared Ownership homes will provide much-needed affordable homes for local people.”
Dan Merriman, Land Director for Bellway Kent, said:
“Bellway is pleased to be working alongside Golding Homes at the Oxenden Park development in Herne Bay, with contracts now exchanged for Golding to acquire 72 plots of affordable housing which will be delivered as part of the wider scheme approved by Canterbury City Council.
“As a developer based in Maidstone, Golding Homes is a natural partner of choice for the Bellway Kent division with both companies understanding the needs of local residents and are recognised, reputable brands within the county. We look forward to welcoming Golding Homes onto the development at Oxenden Park as we continue to deliver new housing in Herne Bay.”
Start on site is scheduled for September this year, with the homes due to be completed by the end of 2025.
