Customers welcome investment in new doors and windows

We're spending around £2.9m a year, over the next five years, to replace windows and doors in customers’ homes.

As part of their on-going investment programme, the windows and doors replacement work is vital to Golding’s sustainability commitment to improve the energy efficiency and affordability of homes.

Tom Casey, Director of Development and Strategic Asset Management said: “I’m pleased that we have started our five-year contract working with Nationwide Windows and that they’re using skilled local tradesmen to do the fitting.”

“We’re committed to maintaining the fabric of our homes and supporting our customers to keep their homes warm and efficient to run. Well-fitted doors and windows will help limited drafts and heat escaping, save energy, and reduce bills.”

The current programme will aim to fit 500 homes with new windows each year and around 500 new doors.

Golding customer Janet Almeida said of her new windows: “It’s great to be able to keep the warmth in and the noise out. There are no longer any pockets of cold air. Communication about the works has been consistent and good. We’ve been told what’s going to happen and when. It’s been a good experience.”

James Sullivan has been a Golding customer for nine years. He said: “The new windows have made a real difference to the whole street and the house as a whole. It’s good having pride in your street. Once my windows were in, I took the opportunity to repaint the front and give things a facelift.”

Investing in our homes is a key part of Golding’s vision to provide sustainable homes and communities.
