Golding Homes at the House of Lords
Key stakeholders for Golding Vision, the community arm of Golding Homes, were invited to an afternoon tea at the House of Lords on October 11th to celebrate its achievements and to launch a DVD raising awareness about disability amongst preschool children
The animation DVD is backed by Tanni, Baroness Grey-Thompson who hosted the launch event and Steve Brown, Paralympian Wheelchair Rugby Captain. It helps preschool children to understand and normalise disability with the character Tammi the tortoise who meets Eddie and his friends. The DVD’s launch is timely, with global awareness of disability, at the forefront of people’s minds following the Paralympic games. ‘Disability Eddie’ is the third of three animations that have been funded by Golding Vision in partnership with Wellbeing People as part of an interactive, educational resource aimed at 3-5 year old preschoolers.
Baroness Grey-Thompson said,
“It is really great to see such a proactive approach taken by Golding Vision to fund the DVD. It is so important to share and discuss the differences within our society at a young age and I am proud to back a project that works to normalise disability.
“The Paralympics has demonstrated that disability shouldn’t hold back dreams and ambition in sport or personal life and the DVD celebrates this - which is such a positive message for young minds growing up.”

Disability Eddie is just one of a number of community projects that Golding Vision has supported over the last six years and supports Golding Vision’s health and wellbeing priority, as part of its annual investment and partnership working to improve the life opportunities of its residents.
The event comes hot on the heels of the Access for All day organised by Golding Vision; a free activity day aimed at supporting the health and wellbeing of people with disabilities, their carers, family and friends.
