Golding Homes receives £3 million government grant

Golding Homes has been given its largest single funding allocation to date from the government’s housing agency Homes England.

Last week, Golding received over £3 million of grant funding which will be used to build new homes at two of our latest developments, Somerfield Terrace in Maidstone and The Burrows, Paddock Wood.

Somerfield Terrace (pictured) will see the delivery of 73 new homes at Maidstone’s former Somerfield Hospital site, including 19 shared ownership homes and 21 homes for social rent. A proportion of the new homes will also be built using modern methods of construction.

The Burrows development in Paddock Wood will consist of 155 new homes, with 50 of these being grant-funded shared ownership properties.

The funding has come from the government’s Affordable Homes Programme 2021-26, which is a £7.39 billion fund to support the costs of developing affordable housing for rent or sale.

Tom Casey, Director of Development and Sales at Golding Homes, said:

‘We’re really pleased that work is now underway at the Somerfield Terrace and The Burrows developments.

‘This funding from Homes England means we can provide much-needed affordable housing for rent and shared ownership in our local communities.’
