Golding Homes Relaunches Dress to Impress
A free service giving job seekers access to interview clothes and advice has been relaunched by housing association Golding Homes.
The Dress to Impress service is run by Golding Vision, the community arm of Golding Homes, and forms part of the organisation’s Workwise service which offers free practical help and advice on getting a job, training and more.
Residents attending an interview may not have the appropriate clothes to wear, which is where the Dress to Impress service can help by offering a suitable interview outfit free of charge. Penny Lowe, Employment Advisor at Golding Homes said: “It is so important to make a positive first impression at an interview, and wearing the right outfit is key to this. Wearing the right clothes can help our residents feel confident, meaning they are more likely to do well at the interview and be offered the job. Through Dress to Impress we can support our residents with not only an interview outfit but are also able to assist them with interview techniques.”
Golding resident Abul was recently offered a job thanks to help he received from the Workwise service. He said: “The team at Golding Homes reworked my CV helping me to secure an interview, but that wasn’t the end of the support. I didn’t have the kind of clothes that were likely to impress a potential employer, so as well as helping me prepare for the interview, thanks to Dress to Impress I was given a suit so that I could also look smart.”
The service, which is based at Abacus Furniture Store in Shepway, can be accessed by making a one-to-one appointment with the organisation’s Workwise team by calling 0300 777 2700 or emailing employment.services@goldinghomes.org.uk
