Golding Homes supports the Salvation Army's Christmas appeal
Golding Homes has supported this year’s Salvation Army Christmas appeal by donating gifts for local children.
The Salvation Army cares for some of the most vulnerable people in the community, and so far this year The Salvation Army in Maidstone has had 187 families referred to them, with 444 children aged 0-16 in need of Christmas gifts.
Colleagues were asked to donate new or nearly new toys to be wrapped and distributed to families in need this Christmas.
Steph Goad, Chief Executive of Golding Homes, said: “With the cost-of-living crisis hitting so many families hard this year, we were only too pleased to help support the Salvation Army’s Christmas appeal.
“I’m proud of our colleagues for rallying together to donate so many gifts, and I hope they’ll go some small way to making Christmas a little brighter for local children.”
Captain Marion Rouffet, Corps Officer Maidstone, said: “Christmas is a time of joy, but the pressure to buy presents and extra treats can put enormous financial and emotional strain on families with children.
“We are so grateful to all those who have supported our Christmas Present Appeal once again this year. Almost 500 children in our community will receive gifts on Christmas morning because of this generosity. Thank you for helping us to bring hope and joy to children and families across Maidstone this Christmas, and for relieving some of the anxiety that parents and carers will have been facing.”
