Golding Staff vote for Heart of Kent Hospice as new Charity Partner

Heart of Kent Hospice Launch Dec 2018

We have recently chosen Heart of Kent Hospice as our new Charity Partner for 2019.

Golding staff voted for the Hospice to be their chosen charity, out of nine other organisations.

Heart of Kent Hospice is currently caring for over 700 terminally ill patients and their families in the Aylesford, Maidstone, Tonbridge, Malling and surrounding areas.  With just 20% of its funding last year coming from the government it relies of the generosity of the local community to raise £4 out of every £5 it spends caring for patients.

Gary Clark, Golding Homes’ Chief Executive said: “Staff at Golding have a strong connection to the Hospice as it’s a local charity. Over the years the Hospice has cared for many of our residents in Maidstone and we are enormously appreciative of the work they do within our local communities.

We have a really exciting programme of fundraising activities planned, including a 24 hour cycle challenge at Brands Hatch, and hope to raise lots of money for the Hospice over the coming year.”

Golding Homes spends half a million pounds a year investing in its local communities and funding activities that make a difference to people’s lives as part of its core social purpose.

We have recently launched the Golding Giveback scheme providing opportunities for staff to take a paid day to volunteer for a local charity.  As part of this, Golding staff have signed up to help at the Hospice’s Light up a Life events and Christmas present wrapping at The Mall, Maidstone.

Claire Whybrew, the Hospice’s Corporate Partnerships Manager is looking forward to working in partnership with Golding Homes over the coming year to raise funds. She said: “We are really excited about the opportunities that working closely with the Golding team will bring and have a lot planned.  Whether its organising networking events, corporate sponsorship, volunteering days, individual challenges, there will be something for everyone,  which will not only be rewarding for Golding staff but also help the Hospice to continue providing its services within the local community.”
