A partnership between Mitie, Golding Homes, Wellbeing People, Kent County Council and Kent Community Health NHS Foundation has been awarded ‘Innovators of the Year’ at the annual Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Awards, for its Health MOT Roadshow.

The CIH awards recognise housing excellence across a range of disciplines, and allow housing providers, developers and housing professionals to get recognition for the work they do to shape housing and communities in the South East. The ‘Innovators of the Year’ award recognises and celebrates innovators who have developed original projects and services within the South East region.

This award is the second for the partnership. It follows the highly acclaimed ‘Innovation in Partnering using TPC2005 Award’ presented at the prestigious 2015 PPC/TPC Awards.

The Health MOT Roadshow has not only demonstrated the success of working collaboratively, drawing on expertise across public, private and not-for-profit sectors, its fundamental aim has been to improve health and wellbeing in areas of deprivation.

Mat Bishop, Director of Mitie’s Property Services‘ Southern Housing business said: "This is another great achievement for our teams. The roadshow has helped to demonstrate how health and housing are fundamentally interlinked - both share common challenges that affect people and their communities. This truly innovative project has not only helped to address these problems, it has also set a precedent for cross-sector collaborative working.”

Caroline McBride, Golding Homes’ Head of Community Development said:  “The Health MOT Roadshow is an effective way of engaging with people, who might not ordinarily visit their GP. The innovative partnership has made this possible and we are delighted that this initiative has been recognised throughout the industry”

Ben McGannan, Managing Director of Wellbeing People explained: “Wellbeing People are delighted to be part of this exciting and innovative project which demonstrates the potential for enhanced outcomes through collaboration between the private, public and third sector in the areas of health and housing.”
