Moving out

If you’re moving out, it’s important to leave your home clean and tidy, and make sure no personal belongings are left behind. This helps to ensure our homes are not empty for longer than they need to be and we can re-let the property quickly to another customer.

Moving can be a stressful time, so here are our top tips of things to remember before you go:

  • Remove all furniture, personal belongings, carpets, laminate flooring, and curtains
  • Clear your garden of all personal items
  • Remove any rubbish bags and safely dispose of any bulky items you no longer need
  • Fix any holes in walls or doors
  • Leave in good condition plugs and chains for sinks, baths and wash-hand basins, electrical sockets and fuses, toilet seats
  • Repair any damage to fixtures and fittings such as cupboard doors, drawers, broken windows, and put back any unauthorised changes
  • Lastly please leave all windows keys and utility supply keys.

“Respecting your home as you prepare to move out can really help us to ensure the home is re-let quickly. Any repairs, clearances, or cleaning works identified once you’ve moved can result in you being asked to come back to the property to complete the works or being recharged any costs that we would need to make.  Together we can prevent unnecessary costs and time and ensure a positive and smooth moving out process for you.”
