Update on Midhurst Court

Following the advice of Southern Gas Network (SGN), Midhurst Court residents were able to return to their flats from 9.30pm last night.

As a precautionary measure, the gas supply to 25 of the flats was turned off and we have qualified gas engineers on site today who are testing the pressure of the main gas supply.

We don’t believe at this stage that the gas pipe was fractured but we are awaiting confirmation from  SGN who are carrying out further work.

A member of Golding Homes’ staff is on site to provide support to residents and provide updates throughout the day.

Incident at Midhurst Court

At approximately 5pm today we were notified that a part of the scaffolding at Midhurst Court, the block of flats at Mote Road, had given way and was resting on the main gas supply.

Transco is currently on site to carry out safety checks to the gas supply and contractors Mitie are also on site to make safe the scaffolding.

We can confirm that the building is currently being evacuated and we are liaising closely with the emergency services and supporting them in the emergency response.

For updated information about the incident contact Diane Beeching, PR & Communications Manager, email: diane.beeching@goldinghomes.org.uk or call 0300 777 2600.
