Planning application submitted for Shepway Regeneration

We're pleased to advise that we have now submitted planning permission to Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) for our plans to regenerate Cambridge Crescent and Northumberland Court.

Our planning submission is due to go to MBC's Planning Committee in May, where we hope they'll approve our plans.

Our plans will create a new vision for the area by developing 236 new, energy efficient affordable homes, with a thriving modern shopping area, and improved landscaping and community facilities. We want to create a vibrant community where people are proud to live.

See below details of our next steps following the planning decision:

  • May 2022: Approval or decline of planning permission (due to a delay in planning validation this is now May and not April as previously communicated)
  • Summer 2022 to Winter 2022: If planning permission is approved we will start consulting with and moving customers in Phase One
  • Late 2022: Start on site (phase one)

We’d also like to thank residents for all your comments and the completed surveys we've received, which have been taken into consideration as part of our final submission. We'll continue to keep you updated and informed as the project progresses.
