At Golding Homes we have joined the national campaign launched this week to “Fix the housing crisis, for good”.

Staff at Golding took part in the social media campaign, giving their own reasons why they feel strongly about the need for more affordable housing.

Chief Executive of Golding Homes Gary Clark said: “We are committed to playing our part in tackling the housing crisis and are doubling the number of new homes we are building this year in Kent. As part of this national campaign I want to urge politicians to make sure housing remains a priority and commit to delivering the huge number of new affordable homes needed by people, especially here in the South East.”

The National Housing Federation launched a nation-wide week of action calling for the new government to fix the housing crisis for good. As part of this, housing associations across the country are shining a spotlight on their impactful work.

The sector is calling for the next government to invest £12.8bn in new social housing every year for a decade. This would unlock tens of thousands of new social homes across the country, as well as supporting the economy and lowering the benefit bill.

Homes for sale or rent in the South East have become increasingly out of reach for local people. That is why housing associations across the region are stepping up to deliver new homes. Over the last year, housing associations built 8,820 homes in the South East with work already started on another 12,863.
