Working together with Maidstone Borough Council for our community
Golding Homes are proud to be helping Maidstone Borough Council with their response to Covid-19 offering support to vulnerable people through their Community Hub.
Golding Homes has provided five members of staff to work directly for the Maidstone Community Hub, they will be answering calls and responding to people in need to help them access the right support. This can include those in need of essentials such as food or medicine, collecting shopping, or support with loneliness.
Director of Operations Annemarie Roberts said: “As a local landlord we are doing whatever we can to help people through these difficult times and we are delighted to be supporting Maidstone Borough Council in providing vital support to those that need it and giving something back to our local community.”
Alison Broom, Chief Executive at Maidstone Borough Council said: “Maidstone Borough Council welcomes the collaboration of Golding Homes in the recently established Maidstone Community Hub, delivering vital services to our residents during the Coronavirus pandemic.
“Golding Homes staff are an integral part of the team and are receiving the incoming calls from residents who need help and support with food, prescriptions, and shopping. A wide range of voluntary organisations volunteer, as well as our council team, delivering the practical support that our residents need. This is an excellent example of pulling together and working as one, demonstrating the strong working partnerships we have all created.”
Kate Latham, is a member of Golding Homes Customer First team and was thrilled to be able to help people in this way. She said: “To make some impact on those who need it most at this time is such a rewarding thing to do. I am proud to be doing my bit and representing Golding. The first call I took was for a vulnerable man who had very little food or money and I was able to help him access services to help him. It was nice to know that I have helped in some way to make a difference in his life at this challenging time.’
Since opening on 25 March the community hub has delivered over 300 food parcels to residents in urgent need and received over 2000 requests for help. Due to the high demand, the hub is currently prioritising support for the most vulnerable people
