Your rent and Coronavirus
The coronavirus pandemic is currently impacting many of our residents causing concern. Golding Homes are committed to supporting our residents if they have been affected by this situation. Your rent is still being charged as usual but we are committed to make sure nobody loses their home as a result of Coronavirus. We will work with you to protect your tenancy.
If you are struggling with your money or household bills our Tenancy Support Advice Service is there to help you now. We also encourage you to speak to your Neighbourhood Advisor to come to an acceptable arrangement which takes into account the challenges we all currently face. We can help you to access appropriate grants to assist you.
If your financial circumstances have changed as a result of the Coronavirus, you may need to contact the DWP or the local authority Housing and Council Tax Benefit Service in your area for advice in relation to any support you may now be entitled to.
You can contact Universal Credit on 0800 328 5644 for advice or check your eligibility and apply online on gov.uk Universal Credit. There are also useful guides relating to Universal Credit at gov.uk.
If you are self-isolating, there are a number of payment methods available which do not require personal contact with anyone else, such as:
Direct Debit
- Setting up a Direct Debit takes away the stress of paying your rent each month. It is quick and easy to setup and you call also arrange your payment to be made on a day that suits you, giving you full flexibility. Simply call us and we can arrange the payment over the phone.
Online
- Visit the allpay website (opens in new window) to pay your rent online
Text Payments
- To make a payment via text please register online at www.allpayments.net/textpay (opens in new window). All you need is an allpay swipecard and a debit or credit card.
Smartphone App
- Download the free allpay App from the App store to make rent payments anytime, anywhere.
Alternatively, you can call us on 0300 777 2600 to make a payment over the phone, set up a direct debit or a standing order
If your income is affected by Coronavirus these are the steps to take:
Step one: Contact DWP or the local authority housing in the first instance for help and advice.
Step two: Contact your Neighbourhoods Advisor to discuss different ways of payment.
Step three: If you are struggling to budget or need any extra help, speak to your Neighbourhoods Advisor and we can refer you to our Tenancy Support Advice Service or other organisations who will be able to assist
