Help us to keep you and your family safe

Keeping you and your family safe in your home is our top priority. One very important way we do this, is to carry out vital safety checks like gas (once a year) and electrical (every 5 years).  A few weeks before your gas service is due, we’ll send you a letter with an appointment time, this is automatically generated so we understand it’s not always convenient. When you get your letter, if the appointment time is ok you don’t need to do anything, we’ll see you on the day. If it’s not convenient, please call us on 0300 777 2600 to rearrange. 
  
We’re finding that on lots of occasions we attend a property but the customer’s not in. If you’ve got an appointment, please make sure you’re in so we can access your home and carry out the job. If you need to reschedule, please call us on 0300 777 2600 and we’ll book another appointment with you.  
  
As well as the safety check on your boiler, we'll service your heating appliances and check your smoke alarms and any carbon monoxide detectors. If you've got any other gas appliances that are yours such as a cooker, we’ll carry out a visual safety check.  
  
Faulty gas appliances can cause fire or explosions, so it’s really important that we carry out these checks. Carbon monoxide can also leak from faulty appliances - it's colourless and has no smell, but in high doses this can kill in less than five minutes. Please make sure you're letting us in so we can make sure your appliances are safe.   
 

What you can expect from us  

  • We'll complete your annual gas safety check (and any work that's needed) first time, whenever possible. Sometimes we may need to switch off your gas until we can fix the issue, but we’ll try to avoid this.  

  • All our engineers are 'Gas Safe' registered  

  • Our operatives and contractors will work in a professional way, and not cause you any unnecessary disruption.  

 

What can you do?  

  • Please make sure someone over the age of 18 is in your property the whole time we’re there  

  • Clear the area in and around your appliances to give us easy access  

  • Make sure our operatives can gain access to all the rooms that have a gas appliance  

  • Allow time for the test to be carried out which is usually around an hour
