Energy improvement works

Energy improvement works

We care about making our customers’ homes safe, warm and energy efficient.

The government has tasked all social housing providers with making sure all of our homes have an energy rating of EPC C or above. Here you’ll find information about the programmes we’re running to achieve this.

Improvements we’re making include replacing old, inefficient electric storage heaters with new air-source heat pumps, as well as installing loft insulation and low energy light bulbs. These improvements will make homes warmer, safer and more energy efficient to run.

Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund

In 2023 we successfully bid for funding from the government’s Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF).

This money is helping to fund a £2.9 million project to retrofit 111 homes in and around Maidstone, including at the Royal British Legion Village in Aylesford.

Here we’re replacing old, inefficient electric storage heaters with new air-source heat pumps. These provide heating and hot water in a more energy efficient way. This work’s being carried out by our contractor, Breyer.

If your home’s been fitted with an air source heat pump, please refer to this Air source heat pump user manual.pdf [pdf] 6MB for how to programme it.

Energy saving programme

These works include topping up loft insulation and installing low-energy lightbulbs. If your home’s been identified as needing energy improvements, you’ll be contacted by our contractor, Breyer, to arrange a survey.

This survey will determine what work's needed to bring your home’s energy rating up to EPC C, which is a government requirement. If no works are needed after the survey, this means your home is energy efficient.

We want to make your home safer, warmer and healthier, so please make sure you allow access to your home to complete the survey and any works needed.
