New Builds

When should I order broadband for my new build?
It's a good idea to give broadband providers at least two weeks' notice when you're moving house. In some cases, internet providers might ask to be notified 30 days before you move, to make sure all the necessary arrangements are in place.

How do I change my utility supplier (Gas and Electric)?
You'll need to wait for your first bill to arrive, then you're able to change utility companies. This is because it takes a while for meters to go onto networks.

Can I install a Ring doorbell or CCTV?

  • You'll need to ask permission to install this by emailing permissions@goldinghomes.org.uk.
  • It can only cover your property and not your neighbour's property or any communal areas. This means it's not possible to have CCTV if you live in a flat with a shared entrance.
  • You can install a doorbell which does not record or save footage if it covers a neighbour’s property or any communal areas. This means that if you live in a flat with a shared entrance, it's possible to have a camera doorbell with a live video stream only.
  • It's your responsibility to make good if any damage is caused when you install a Ring door bell or CCTV.
  • It has to comply with the law. Some information is available on the Surveillance Camera Commissioner’s website.

Why can't I find my postcode online?

It takes time for new postcodes to load onto systems, this can sometimes take a few months. The developer sends your new postcode to Royal Mail so you should be receiving post.
