Pets

We recognise that for many people pets are an important member of the family and offer companionship. They also help people to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle and pet ownership can offer significant benefits to a person’s wellbeing. However, it’s important that we maintain high quality homes and communal areas, so we need to make sure that pets don’t negatively affect others.

If you have a pet, please let us know by contacting help@goldinghomes.org.uk

XL Bully Dogs

From 31 December 2023 it became illegal to breed, sell, advertise, exchange, gift, rehome, abandon, or allow XL Bully type dogs to stray.

If you’ve got an XL Bully dog, you’ll need to keep your dog on a lead and muzzled when walking them in public and in cars. You’ll also need to apply for the government exemption scheme by 31 January 2024 to get your dog exempted and comply with additional restrictions, which includes having them neutered and having third party liability insurance. Visit the government website to apply for this certificate.
