Vehicle Crime and Nuisance
Abandoned Vehicles
Abandoned vehicles on land owned or managed by Golding Homes can quickly become an eyesore, a focus for vandalism, and pose a potential health and safety risk. Vehicles which are, or may be causing a danger, must be reported to the Police. Before reporting, check with your neighbours first as they might know who the owner is.
How do you know the vehicle is abandoned? Has it been stationary for a long time? Is it damaged or vandalised? Is it unroadworthy with flat tyres or broken windows? Has it been burnt out? Is it missing registration plates? If you ’ ve answered yes to any of those questions, it ’ s likely to be abandoned.
If you know the vehicle is on Golding land, you can report it to us using the information at the end of this page.
Please be aware that removing a vehicle is a lengthy process and it might take some time to resolve. We'll work with your local authority to remove vehicles.
Vehicle Repairs
Whilst we understand that repair work to your own vehicle is essential, we don't allow repairs to multiple vehicles. If you believe that your neighbour is running a vehicle repair business and causing a nuisance, you can report it to us using the information at the end of this page.
If the vehicles are being repaired on a verge or public highway, you should report it to your local authority. You can find your local authority here.
Parking
We know lack of parking can cause issues within communities. We kindly ask that you ‘ re respectful and considerate to your neighbours when parking. If your neighbour is parking their vehicle inconsiderately, try and this resolve the issue first by speaking with them in a calm manner. If the behaviour continues, we can help by asking them to sign a Parking Agreement.pdf [pdf] . You can report it to us using the information at the end of this page.
If the vehicles are parking inconsiderately on a verge or public highway, you should report it to your local authority. You can find your local authority here.
If the vehicle is parked dangerously or causing an obstruction and needs to be moved urgently, please report this to Kent Police by calling 101.
