Buildings Insurance update July 2024

Brambledown Cripple Street

As your landlord it's our responsibility to insure the structure of the property* (buildings insurance) against identified harms like fire, smoke, explosion, storm, or flood. This is a service which by law we must provide to make sure that you, along with the public, contractors and our staff are safe. Buildings insurance is a service cost we incur which we collect back from customers. Read more about service charges here.

This year the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), who regulate financial services firms and financial markets in the UK has introduced new rules about insurance of multi-occupancy buildings such as blocks of flats.  Read more about the new FCA rules on their website here.

We’ve been working with our insurance broker Marsh to update our policy. Please use the links below to find out more about what you’re paying for and how your buildings insurance service charges will be calculated in future.
