Prescriptions cost £9.35 though some people do qualify for free or discounted prescriptions, such as if you're under 16 or over 60, have certain medical conditions or are claiming certain benefits.

Over one million people in England from April 2020 to April 2021 would've been better off using an NHS prescription payment certificate, a kind of season ticket. They allow you to pay a one-off fee or monthly amounts to covers the costs of all prescriptions for a period of three months or one year .
