What if I don’t agree with my rent increase?

No-one likes to get an increase, whether it’s your rent or another bill. Your rent is set in line with government guidelines set out in the Rent Standard, but if you believe there’s a reason your rent isn’t correct, please contact us so we can investigate.

If you feel your rent is too high for the property and you want to challenge your rent increase, you’ve also the right to seek a determination from a Rent Assessment Committee. Please be aware that the committee will assess your rent to a level, which may be higher than what you’re being asked to pay.

A Rent Assessment Committee is a tribunal which can assess fair and market rents in England and Wales. More information is available on the Government’s website https://www.gov.uk/housing-tribunals/apply-to-the-tribunal
