Rent and Service Charges 2024
It’s important for customers to pay rent and housing charges. As a not-for-profit organisation, our income goes to providing quality services and support to you, our customers. We do understand that some of our customers may be facing difficulties, and we’re here to help.

In addition to our usual customer support services, you can call in to speak to our experts at any time on a range of issues, from paying your rent, budgeting and benefits, to employment support and possible access to funding.

2024 changes to your rent
Each year rents are reviewed in line with government legislation and calculated at September Consumer Price Index (CPI) + 1%. This year rent for general needs customers will increase by 7.7% from 1 April 2024.
How is my rent increase worked out?
The September 2023 CPI was 6.7% + I% equals an increase of 7.7%
Market rents are increasing in line with the markets by between 4% and 10%. We're writing to customers to explain their rent increases and charges in more detail ahead of the changes.
2024 changes to service charges
Service charge costs will also increase in the coming year by 7%. This’ll help us to continue to deliver the services we provide.
The core services we provide, such as repairs, are paid for by the rent. Other services that you receive are covered by service charges, such as cleaning and grounds maintenance.
From April 2024, some of our customers will move from a fixed to a variable service charge. If you're one of the customers affected by this change, we've already been in touch with you about this. You can find out more here.

How to pay
Paying your rent and service charges must be first on your list of outgoings.
The easiest way to pay your rent to Golding Homes is by Direct Debit. You can do this quickly by signing up to our customer portal, MyGolding. All you need is a valid email address and your tenancy number, which can be found at the top of your rent increase letter. To sign up, click on the MyGolding button at the top of this page.
